Regular meeting of the project "iMODE-CKD" and "BcMolMed" workshop within the project "iMODE-CKD" (20-22 March 2015)



  

 Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts (MASA) hosted a Regular meeting of the project "iMODE-CKD" and "BcMolMed" workshop within the "iMODE-CKD" project in the framework of FP 7 program "Marie Curie Actions - Initial Training Networks". Organizers of the meeting and workshop were the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts and The Macedonian Association of Nephrology, Dialysis, Transplantation and Artificial Organs (MANDTAO).

The meeting was opened by Momir Polenakovic, Head of the Research Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology at MASA, followed by Goce Spasovski, president of the Macedonian Association of Nephrology, Dialysis, Transplantation and Artificial Organs (MANDTAO) University Skopje and Antonia Vlahou, Chief Project Manager of iMODE-CKD.

The meeting was opened with a plenary lecture by Katarina Davalieva, as a representative of the Research Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology at MASA. Within the meeting held two lectures on complementary skills by G. Spasovski, Skopje, Macedonia and J. Schanstra from Toulouse, France.

The second day was dedicated workshop on "Chronic Kidney Disease: Clinical Management issues" presented by prominent nephrologists and scientists from Macedonia and Europe. The introductory lecture on "CKD: Questions that need to be answered and are not (or at least not entirely)" held the former president of the European Renal Association (ERA-EDTA) - R. Vanholder of Ghent, Belgium. Lectures were given by A. Ortiz, Madrid, Spain, O. Stojceva-Thane, Skopje, Macedonia, D. Goumenos, Patras, Greece, J. Beige, Leipzig, Germany, M. Klinger, Wroclaw, Poland, G. Spasovski, Skopje, Macedonia, J. Jankowski, Aachen, Germany, G. Capasso, Naples, Italy, A. Schiller, Timisoara, Romania, R. Johnson, Illinois, USA, F. Ferrario, Monza, Italy, I. Rychlík, Prague, Czech Republic.

During the third day, young PhD  students and participants in the projects "iMODE-CKD" and "BcMolMed" presented their progress reports.
